Assembly
The School begins with assembly at 9.00 AM. Students are expected to be on time for the assembly. Students who come in late will have to procure a permit slip from the Principal before entering class. Habitual late comers will not be permitted to attend class.
A note to parents

The school expects full co-operation of the parents and guardians in all matters concerning the education of their child.

Parents are to read the school diary every evening and see to it that the lessons and homework assigned for the next day is done.

It is important that you make note of the remarks made in the diary by the Principal or the teacher and sign.

Please encourage the child to dress neatly to school, keep their personal belongings carefully, polish shoes, and take pride in their work.

Please ensure that you follow the school calendar and avoid taking the child out for social functions and other gatherings during school days

Pupil Tree is a plastic free zone. Use of all kinds of disposable plastic is strictly prohibited
Parents visit to school

Parents are requested to visit the school for all their transactions only during office hours on working days.

Parents visiting the school on a working day must go to the front office and not to the staff room or classrooms.

Parents can meet the Academic Directors/Co-ordinators/Class mentors/subject teachers at school on the first and third Saturday after 11.30 am by prior
appointment. -
Parents who wish to meet the Principal should do so with prior appointment.

Students are expected to be on time to School every day. Regular attendance and punctuality to School is emphasised.

Students are expected to come in their school uniform, neatly pressed and clean.

Wearing, jewellery, mehendi and other accessories to school is not permitted. This is done so as to ensure simplicity and uniformity amongst all students. A pair of simple earrings, preferably studs may be worn to school every day.

All children are expected to wear the school ID card every day.

Care should be taken of the school property. Students are liable to make good all the damages they cause to school property.

School diary should be brought to school every day.
-
Books must be brought to school according to the daily schedule.
-
Bags, cardigans, shoes and other articles brought to school should have the name of the student and class marked on them. Any property found on the premises may be handed over to the reception counter. Students should take good care of their belongings. The school will not be responsible for money or articles or any other valuables lost or stolen in the school premises. Pupils are held responsible for their belongings.

Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the school for students. Students found using mobile phones will be accountable for the consequences and the phone confiscated.

Students are prohibited from bringing cameras, CDs, I pods, slam books, picture magazines, comics, video games, audio tapes, change of clothes or shoes without specific permission from the class teacher.
Leave policy
-
Students are expected to put in a minimum of 90% of the attendance.
-
Any leave of absence from School needs to be addressed to the Principal in writing indicating the section of the child and the reason for the leave of absence.
-
The student must also present a leave note from parents when she/he returns to the School. Medical certificates must always be produced for illness exceeding one week.
-
Students will not be exempted from PE or games unless and until a valid doctor’s certificate accompanied by parent appeal is submitted to and approved by the Principal.
-
During school hours if a student needs to leave the school compound, she/he must get a written note from the Principal and the Class teacher. No student is allowed to leave the School premises unless accompanied by parent/guardian.

Students should abide by the holidays as granted by the School and not prolong vacations and holidays without urgent need. Attendance on the opening day and
closing day of every term is compulsory. -
Student’s name will be struck off the rolls and re-admission will be required for any unaccounted absence from school.

Leave application for serious sickness or other crucial need must reach the school office prior to the opening day.

Late fee is charged for defaulters and is at the discretion of the Management.
-
Students are not allowed to receive visitors in School. They are not allowed to make or attend phone calls unless the School deems it necessary.

Students suffering from an infectious disease must produce a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner so that she/he may attend school without
their risk of conveying infection. -
Students are discouraged from offering presents to their teachers except those sanctioned by the Principal.

Any correspondence with the school should be addressed to the Principal. The full name of the child along with the class and section should be included.
-
Parents and guardians are to make prior appointment to meet the class teachers and restrict to the days and timings allotted for meeting the class teachers.

Behaviour outside school hours
Although parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children outside school hours; the school will take necessary action when such behaviour is reported to be immoral or violent.
Birthday celebrations
Pupil Tree School is a plastic free zone. Hence please do not send plastic wrapped chocolates, biscuits or confectioneries. However children can distribute branded unwrapped biscuits, cookies or dry fruits to their classmates only.
Personal party invitations & gifts for staff are strictly prohibited.
Assessment

Assessments will be conducted periodically as per the requirement of the Board. The average of the assessments will be considered for final promotion.

Absence from assessments is strictly discouraged and only genuine cases will be considered.
-
Promotion to higher classes is decided on the basis of continuous assessment.
-
Cheating, helping another student or any other malpractice in an examination disqualifies the student for the whole examination.
-
If a holiday is declared on the scheduled day for assessment, the same will be conducted after the last day of the assessment.

Progress report will be issued after the Midterm/Final Assessments on the PTM Day.

Absence of students and non attendance of parents on PTM Day will result in the report being retained till a future date which will be intimated to parents.

Physical Education Programme
An array of excellent sporting facilities which include cricket, throwball, kho-kho, basketball, hockey and football are ensured by the highest standards of professional trainers. More physical activities are ensured as a part of the academic programme.
Every child gets an opportunity and should participate in competitive athletics and interscholastic sports. Students at School belong to one of the four houses. The House colours accordingly are—

Student Council (Studco)
The School believes in tapping talented potential leaders from a very young age and accordingly has a Student Council (STUDCO) to assist the Principal and the teachers in various day to day functioning and smooth running of the School.

ID Card
School ID Cards are a part of the uniform. These ID cards may be ordered through the school, once school reopens.

Library and Computer lab
-
Library and Computer lab are two significant and integral assets of the school. Huge financial investments are made to make them most modern and up to date. Students are expected to use them with great diligence and care.

Students shall co-operate with the library and computer staff in maintaining order and discipline. Students shall take care not to lose damage or deface any of the materials, fixtures and equipment that are provided. Any loss or damage will have to be replaced or made good by the student concerned.
School office timings
School office will remain open between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm from Monday to Friday and 9.00 AM to 12.30 pm on Saturdays. The school office will be closed on Saturday afternoons and on public holidays.
Transfer Certificate

All applications for TCs will have to be sent as a written request addressed to the principal on or before the notice date.
-
The office will take minimum 30 days to issue the TCs. TC is issued on payment of Rs. 200 only if it is notified on or before the notified date.

Once Transfer Certificate has been prepared and issued by the school and the students seek re-admission it will be treated as new admission. This will involve full payment and admission fee based on the existing rates at that time. However, if the Transfer Certificate has not been prepared and timely application for re-admission will be granted on the old Admission number.

Transfer Certificate is issued on clearance of all school dues. School dues at the time of withdrawal will be accepted in cash / draft only.

Fee is charged for the whole month irrespective of the date of Student’s application for Transfer Certificate (E.g.: 2nd, 3rd or 17th of the month).
School Fees

Fee is charged for twelve months.

All fees must be paid by the 10th of the month/term or as indicated at the beginning of each academic year. Any delay in the payment of fee will attract a fine.

If a child remains absent from school for more than a fortnight without informing the school, his/her name will be withdrawn from the school and readmission fee will be charged for further entry.

Annual Fees:

Course fees covers use of library books, computers, science laboratory equipment and all facilities.
Payment method:

Fee is payable by Demand Draft/Google pay/Phone pay/Cash.

No part payment of fees is acceptable under any circumstances.

Fee is payable in three installments: 1st Installment at the time of admission and 2nd Installment 10th September, 3rd Installment 10th December.

Any delay in the payment of fees will attract a fine.

Late payment: Parents/Guardians/Sponsors will be charged Rs. 10 per day until the due amount is paid. After two weeks the students will not be permitted to
attend classes.
Penalties:
-
Students, Parents/Guardians/Sponsors of students will be held responsible for loss/damages to school property/equipment & will be liable to pay for the said loss/damages.
Withdrawal:
-
If the child remains absent from school for more than a fortnight without informing the school, his/her name will be withdrawn from the school and readmission fee will be charged.
-
School cannot reserve seats for students who have not paid admission fee or do not meet payment deadlines.
-
Fees paid whether partial of full, will not be refunded or adjusted if student is withdrawn or required to leave school during a session for any reason.
Transport fee
-
A written application must be made to the Headmistress/Principal for permission for a child to use bus facilities.

Bus fee is to be paid for 12 months— June to September, October to January, and February to May.
-
Once a student enlists for a bus., she/he may not withdraw without paying the fee for 10 months at least.
-
Children are expected to follow the bus rules and regulations as imposed by the school authorities as and when required.
Communicable Diseases, Illness & injury
Communicable Diseases:
Parents of students with a communicable (Contagious) disease or infection are asked to telephone the school management so that students who have not been exposed to the disease can be alerted. Students are not allowed to come to school until the disease is no longer contagious. To ensure good health, when it is determined at school that a child has a contagious disease, the parent will be contacted and asked to pick up the child. The following table lists the most common communicable diseases and infections the incubation period of each, and the requirements for readmission to the school.
Condition, Incubation Period & Readmission Criteria
Chicken Pox 2-3 weeks
Exclude from school until temperature is normal and all blisters have crusted over (usually 7 to 10 days). Must be checked by the doctor and issued a certificate before readmission to class. Vericella (chickenpox) vaccine is now available.
Common Cold 1-3 days
Exclude from school until free of fever (See Fever)
Infectious Hepatitis 15 – 50 days
Notify the school as soon as physician confirms diagnosis. Exclude until no fever, no jaundice, and non-infectious according to a physician’s written statement.
Measles 7-14 days
Exclude when symptoms develop and for four days after appearance of rash in an outbreak, any unimmunized child should also be excluded for at least two weeks after last rash onset occurs. Physician’s statement required.
Mumps 12-25 days
Exclude from school until 9 days from the onset of swelling
Pink eye (conjunctivitis) 1-3 days
Exclude until eye is clear or non-infectious according to a physician’s written statement.
Streptococcil Infection 1-3 days
Exclude until released by a physician or 24 hours after antibiotic treatment has begun and fever subsides.
Scabies 1st Infection 2-6 weeks Repeat Infection 1-4 days
Exclude until physician’s written statement certifies the child has been properly treated and can be readmitted to school.
Fever
Students with a temperature of 1000 F or above must not be sent to school. Students who come to school and have a temperature of 1000 F or above will be sent home.
Students who become ill with fever or vomiting will not be allowed to ride the bus home. Parents will be contacted to pick their child. Students should be fever free for 24
hours without the aid of an antipyretic (aceteaminophen, ibuprofen, etc) before returning to school.
Illness & Injury
The school will provide health care for children who become ill or injured at school. The parent or guardian should discuss special health needs of the student with the school.
If the student needs to go home due to sudden illness or injury, the school management will contact the parent, guardian or emergency contact person. Please continue to provide the school with all current phone numbers.
In the event of a serious medical emergency, parent or guardian will be notified and the student may be transported to the nearest hospital.
Insurance
The school does not carry insurance for personal injury or personal property loss or damage. The school requests the parents / caregivers to purchase a student accident and hospitalization insurance policy directly from an insurance company. The school can assist parents with procedures related to student insurance, but the school acts only as a service agent, receives no remuneration, and is not responsible for the claims resulting from injuries.
